Brief + Challenge
Pieced is a conceptual motion typography project that merges minimalist design with music-driven visuals. The goal was to create a series of videos where typography moves and evolves to mirror the tone, rhythm, and lyrical energy of selected freestyle performances. The project required subtle yet precise animation, maintaining a stripped-back aesthetic that allowed the music and lyrics to remain the primary focus.

Concept + Solution
The concept centers around "lyrics as movement." Typography acts as a visual puzzle, with each piece entering, shifting, and exiting in sync with the beat and flow of the freestyle track. The solution was to use clean sans-serif typography (Helvetica Bold), limited color palettes, and precise motion pacing to create an experience where the animation complements the artist's delivery rather than overpowering it. The minimalist approach ensures that attention remains on the lyrical performance while still enhancing the emotional impact through carefully timed visual storytelling.
